About CTA
Chiswick Theatre Arts was founded in September 2008 by its Principal Miss Georgina Burns. Although CTA is a very young school it has grown rapidly with new students discovering CTA by word of mouth. The school started life in a very small studio on the popular Devonshire Road, Chiswick and then expanded to larger purpose designed premises at the beginning of 2010.

The Facilities

Our school is located in the heart of Chiswick just off Chiswick High Road, at 2 Belmont Rd. We are next to Starbucks and opposite Belmont School, about a 30 second walk from the main entrance to Sainsburys. Our facilities are over 3 floors and feature two brand new modern 800sq ft dance studios equipped with sprung dance floors, full length mirrors and ballet barres.

Childrens Classes

Our Aim
We believe that a training in dance and drama can play an important part in a child’s development. Each child is important to us, and their progress carefully monitored. We believe that Children’s Dance and Drama classes should be fun. All our lessons are well structured, fun and friendly and will help to improve a number of skills and qualities including co-ordination, rhythm, gracefulness, self-discipline, self confidence, social skills, intelligence and physical fitness. The benefits that dance and drama education can bring are unlimited and can be a wonderful aid in both scholastic endeavours and personal growth.

Georgina Burns
Georgina Burns
Chiswick Theatre Arts is run by
Miss Georgina Burns AISTD (Associate Imperial
Society of Teachers of Dance), AIDTA (Associate International Dance Teachers Association) and member of the actors union Equity for 30 years! Although she comes from a medical family, it appears that theatre is in the blood as her sister Nica Burns owns five West End Theatres!

Georgina has been performing on stage since

the age of 4 – and has never stopped! Georgina was born in Chiswick and educated at Haberdashers Aske’s School for Girls, Elstree.

Miss Georgina trained as a dancer at Joyce Butler School of Dance where she won hundreds of dance and drama competitions. At sixteen she won a scholarship to train professionally for 3 years at the prestigious Birds Performance College where she was the youngest student in the school. Here she gained her dance teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in Ballet, National and Modern Theatre. Shereached advanced standard in all disciplines, and is proud that she received honours (the highest qualification) for all her advanced exams. When her final year show at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London was reviewed by The Dancing Times (THE dance magazine), she was the only student out of 100 to be picked out for individual praise. She worked professionally as a dancer and choreographer, appearing on TV, theatre and in the West End (original cast of 42nd Street at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane).

Miss Georgina then furthered her training at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) where she spent three wonderful years at drama school and received her acting diploma. She then worked as a professional actress and presenter. Today, Miss Georgina prefers to take a back seat from performing, (although friends frequently try to twist her arm to try to get her back on stage) and enjoys teaching, directing and choreographing. She is mad about musicals! She directs and choreographs musicals in both the amateur and professional world.

With her husband Phil Tucker, a video production teacher, Georgina has two boys who appeared with James Franco, Kate Hudson and Anna Friel in the feature film 'Good People' in 2014.

Ali Bendall
Ali Bendall
Ali graduated from ArtsEd with a degree in Musical Theatre, and has been enjoying working in and around London [and further afield!] as a Choreographer, Director, Workshop Leader, Voice Over Artist and Performer ever since. She has a huge passion for teaching, creating and working with young performers, with her favourite moment being the "penny drop" one, when a tricky step, technique or sequence slots into place. She's a firm believer that everyone can dance... but some need help finding the other foot!
Ali's performing, directing & choreography credits include Unbroken - Theatre 503, Robin Hood - London Wetlands Centre, Something Something Lazarus - Kings Head Theatre, Peter Pan The Musical Adventure - Bloomsbury Theatre, West End at the Fringe - The Space Edinburgh, Miss Phelps/Dancer in Matilda The Musical Workshops with the RSC, Norma Hubley in Plaza Suite - Waterloo East Theatre, Anita in West Side Story - Fairfield Halls.
Mimi Van Buuren
Mimi Van Buuren
After graduating with a degree in Dance in her native Queensland and training as a yoga teacher in Byron Bay, Mimi travelled to the UK to further her opportunities to work in arts administration. As a holder of dual UK/Australian citizenship, Mimi knows what makes Brits tick whilst bringing a certain aussie insouciance to the CTA party. Mimi has been described as being ‘calm in high pressure situations’ and does a fantastic job of maintaining order in the sometimes organised chaos that is CTA Reception.
Emma Findlay
Emma trained at the Dance School of Scotland in Glasgow before joining the English National Ballet School. Whilst still at school she danced at Wembley Stadium as part of the ‘Concert For Diana’. Upon graduating Emma joined the English National Ballet touring worldwide, dancing the title roles in both Angelina Ballerina’s Star Performance and Angelina Ballerina’s Big Audition. Emma has also performed in Swan Lake at The Palace of Versailles, The Royal Albert Hall and London Coliseum. Emma made
her musical theatre debut in the Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. During the Olympics she worked on a collaboration between English National Ballet and Seven Sisters Group called ‘Like A Fish Out Of Water’. Other credits include Dancing in Roksanda Ilinicic’s fashion show at the V&A and a featured dancer in Pilgrim Angry’s music video ‘Time For Us’.
